  • LifeTime Athletic Westchester

  • MGS serves as land use and zoning counsel for LifeTime Fitness, owner and operator of LifeTime Athletic Westchester. The Minnesota-based national fitness company in 2014 opened its first comprehensive sports, fitness and spa resort in Westchester County - an approximately 209,000 square-foot facility that features state-of-the-art cardiovascular and resistance machines; group fitness, Pilates and yoga studios; indoor and outdoor pools, 2 full-sized indoor basketball courts, rock climbing walls and 10-indoor climate controlled indoor tennis courts.

The property is located at One Westchester Park Drive in Harrison (formerly 1 Gannett Drive), the former home of The Journal News. MGS provided legal advice in connection with a number of zoning, land use and environmental issues, including a zoning amendment to permit the facility in an office park and the demolition and cleanup of the contaminated site. MGS also worked with the Westchester County Industrial Development Agency to obtain incentives for the project based on the construction and permanent jobs created.
